The Women and Children at the Centre program, in partnership with the Kilifi County government’s Department of Health, has collaborated with Helen Keller International to improve the level of care provided to the residents. To assist in this effort, Helen Keller International has donated maternal and child health equipment, as well as nutrition equipment, to local health facilities in the area.
The main objective of this initiative is to enhance the quality of care provided during the first 1000 days of a child’s life. The donated items include baby scales, heightometers, blood pressure monitors, adult scales, delivery sets, ambubags, uterine balloon tamponades, and micronutrient powders. These powders are an effective tool in addressing malnutrition at the household level.
