The Uzazi Salama maternal health program was launched by the Kilifi County Department of Health in collaboration with the M-PESA Foundation and Amref Health Africa, with the goal of improving Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child, and Adolescent health outcomes (RMNCAH) for mothers and children.
The program began at Junju Dispensary in Kilifi South Constituency, where H.E Flora Chibule, Deputy Governor, led a groundbreaking ceremony for a new maternity unit, funded by a KES 10 million pledge from the M-PESA Foundation.
With a budget of KES 225 million over three years, Uzazi Salama aims to benefit 500,000 people in Kilifi County by improving access to maternal health services through the construction of medical facilities and training healthcare workers. The program will also focus on promoting Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene practices along with other interventions.
We express our appreciation to our partners for their continuous support as we strive to offer affordable and accessible healthcare to the residents of Kilifi.
