The National Government has officially declared March 3rd of every year as National Jigger Awareness Day with the objective of enhancing public awareness and involvement in efforts to control jiggers, while recognizing advancements in the prevention, management, and treatment of jigger infestations.
In accordance with this directive, the Kilifi Department of Health organized a meeting with stakeholders to make preparations for the forthcoming occasion.
The agenda of the meeting centered on strategizing for a productive observance of Jigger Awareness Day, set to take place on March 4th, 2024, at Bungu Primary School in Chonyi Sub County.
