H.E First Lady of Kilifi County, Madam Suzanne Mung’aro, visited the Mtwapa sub county Hospital to show her support and strengthen youth-friendly services, promote reproductive health services for youth and young adolescents. During her visit, she observed various health services provided to the youth and identified areas that require attention.
The First Lady generously pledged 100K to assist three teen mothers who are unable to attend school due to financial constraints, enabling them to resume their studies. She expressed her commitment to providing further support and coordinating with various County Government Departments including Health, Trade, Gender, and Social Services, along with partners and friends of Kilifi County, to improve the quality of life for young girls and boys and reduce school dropouts.
Additionally, she provided dignity kits and Leso to the first-time young mothers clinic to address their challenges and promote proper menstrual hygiene practices through the donation of sanitary pads.
We extend our gratitude to the Health Department County Executive Committee Member, Chief Officer Health Services, Director of Medical Services, and Director of Gender for their unwavering support and cooperation during the First Lady’s visit to the facility.
