Today, a delegation from seven African countries – Mozambique, Burundi, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe – visited the Department of Health Services in collaboration with USAID STAWISHA PWANI. The purpose of the visit was to observe and learn from the Harm Reduction program and Medically Assisted Therapy for People Who Inject Drugs (PWIDs) implemented in Kilifi County.
The goal of the visit was to gain insight into the county’s program implementation, share knowledge gained, and discuss the roles of various stakeholders in the MAT program. During the visit, the delegation also had the opportunity to meet with the CHMT as a gesture of courtesy.
Partners involved in this initiative included NASCOP, Reachout Centre Trust, USAID Stawisha Pwani, USAID Kenya, UNODC, National Police Service ACU, Kenya Prisons Services, and MEWA CSO.
