I have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Kilifi County Government and Safaricom MPESA Foundation aiming to enhance maternal healthcare infrastructure and reduce maternal mortality rates across the county.
The 3-year integrated project, estimated at Ksh 240 Million, will involve construction of 10 maternity wings in various rural health facilities and implementing community awareness programs to encourage pregnant women to attend antenatal clinics and other support services.
My administration is committed to strengthening maternal healthcare, recognizing its importance for women of reproductive age. This project will improve maternal healthcare and access to skilled facility-based delivery services at the grassroots level, thus preventing childbirth crises.
Together we are committed to boosting our maternal healthcare infrastructure to tackle maternal mortality rates.
