In order to further improve this service, the Kilifi Department of Health, in partnership with the Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation, is organizing a 5-day training program for 11 paramedics dedicated to Emergency Dispatch Services.
The primary objective of this training is to equip individuals with the necessary skills to handle demanding situations and coordinate emergency responses efficiently. The training will cover essential aspects such as communication proficiency, call-taking procedures, dispatch protocols, technology utilization, emergency medical dispatch (EMD), delivering pre-arrival medical instructions, triaging emergencies, and engaging in realistic simulations to practice skills in high-pressure scenarios. Moreover, participants will undergo training on legal and ethical aspects, to use the Ambulensi system which is going to be installed by the end of this training, in addition to other valuable lessons, to support them in their roles.
