Michael Ushindi lived to prove the meaning of his name. He was admitted last year in Mld Sub-County Hospital due to abdominal problems and underwent 4 major abdominal surgeries. At some point, he was not allowed to eat and was only on parental feeds.This was to let his gut rest and prepare him for the last surgery. Well wisher had to intervene during this time to help him get the required feeds.

He attempted to sit for KCPE while in hospital but only managed to do 1 paper which he scored leas than 100.

After being in hospital for 3 months, he got discharged and Ushindi couldn’t wait to go back to school to fulfil his dreams.

A group of hospital staff, sponsored by Golden Hearts Trust and Saadia Ogle Foundation, donated food items and were able to take Ushindi home in Toroveni, Marafa when he got discharged.

He reattempt KCPE this year and scored 342 marks.
