The Kilifi Department of Health and Sanitation Services in Kilifi has been engaged in a successful partnership with Helen Keller’s “Transforming Lives Through Nutrition” program since 2013, reaching 3.5 million children under the age of 5 with impactful nutrition interventions in Kilifi County.

This initiative prioritizes the continuum of care during the first 1000 days of life by implementing high-impact nutritional interventions such as promoting the uptake of Iron and folic acid supplements, early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding, appropriate complementary feeding, Vitamin A supplementation, Dewormers, and enhancing the quality of maternal and newborn health services through capacity building and strengthening of health systems.
