Marafa Hospital Visit

Consulting
Flora Mbetsa Chibule
Earlier today, I visited Marafa Sub-County Hospital in Magarini Sub-County, accompanied by Hon. Peter Mwarogo, CECM Health and Sanitation Services, Dr. Gilbert Angor, the Sub-county Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Dr. Walter Kagohu, Dr. Morris Buni, Dr. Malika Angore and the Sub-county Administrator Madam Matilda. During the visit, I observed the hospital’s efforts in treating cases of elephantiasis and performing hydrocele surgeries.
Elephantiasis is a disease caused by parasitic infections classified as nematodes (roundworms) that are transmitted through mosquito bites, affecting a significant number of individuals globally. Hydrocele, on the other hand, is a condition characterized by swelling in the scrotum due to the accumulation of fluid around a testicle, commonly seen in newborns.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Amref for their continued partnership, which has facilitated the launch of crucial screening programs and surgical interventions at the hospital, benefiting patients in need.
The Kilifi County Government remains steadfast in its commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of Kilifi residents including our Community health promoters (CHPs) by delivering high-quality healthcare services throughout the region.
