The Department of Health and Sanitation Services, along with MAWASCO and key partners, conducted a thorough evaluation of the Malindi Citywide Inclusive Sanitation Plan (CWISP) in collaboration with.
In this evaluation, representatives from important county departments, KIMAWASCO, WASHFIN, and the private sector, SANIVATION, were brought together with the support of Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) and the implementing partners Sanitation and Hygiene Fund (SHF).
The evaluation covered various essential aspects, including infrastructure development, policy implementation, community engagement, service accessibility, financial and operational efficiency, monitoring and evaluation systems, as well as identifying challenges and gaps during the implementation phase. The goal was to address barriers hindering progress and improve the effectiveness of Malindi’s citywide sanitation plan.
This comprehensive assessment provided valuable insights, identified areas in need of improvement, and supported strategic planning for future developments. The ultimate objective is to ensure that Malindi achieves its sanitation goals efficiently.
