Kilifi County is making significant strides towards achieving its goal of “the highest possible standard of health in a responsive manner” for all its citizens. The Department of Health is committed to providing accessible, equitable, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services to everyone, regardless of their background or financial situation.
A major step in this direction took place today with the launch of two high-impact services and projects:
1. Launch of the Health Products and Technologies Unit with Drugs Distribution Truck and Offices: This initiative will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of medication distribution throughout the county. The new unit and truck will ensure that essential medical supplies reach all corners of Kilifi, reducing the burden on patients and healthcare providers alike.
2. Handing over of three ECG (Electrocardiogram) machines: These critical diagnostic tools will be deployed across various health facilities in the county, allowing for earlier detection and treatment of heart conditions. This will ultimately lead to improved health outcomes for Kilifi residents.
The launch ceremony was graced by the presence of His Excellency The Governor, Gideon M. Mung’aro, who underscored the county government’s commitment to prioritizing healthcare. The event was also an opportunity to acknowledge the vital role played by various stakeholders and partners in supporting Kilifi’s journey towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
This was a momentous occasion for Kilifi County, marking a significant step forward in its quest to ensure the well-being of all its citizens. By investing in essential healthcare infrastructure, technology, and diagnostic tools, the county is paving the way for a healthier and more equitable future for everyone.
The esteemed guests present for the handover of the ECG equipment included Charlotte Marie Matusova, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Kenya, along with the SlovakAid delegation, whose contribution was vital in acquiring the ECG equipment.
