A significant milestone has been achieved with the official handover of the Phase One project of the newly commissioned female ward expansion to Ribe Dispensary by Rabai Power. The ceremony showcased the dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure by the Department of Health and our partners, Rabai Power. Present at the event were the Rabai Power board chairman, Mr. Karsten Valsted Larsen, stakeholders, and key representatives from the health sector including County Health Management Team members Dr. Eddy Nzomo, Catherine Munywoki, Matron Deche, and Richmond Mdindi from Sub-county Health Management Team.
The female ward project, housed in a multi-story building, has completed the ground floor with provisions for future expansion. It is specifically designed to cater to the healthcare needs of women and has a capacity of 20 beds. This ward signifies progress and readiness to offer essential care and support to female patients within the community.
This initiative highlights the Department of Health’s awareness of the importance of creating an inclusive healthcare environment. By focusing on improving facilities tailored to women’s health requirements, this aligns with the broader county government’s mission of enhancing healthcare outcomes for all residents.
The successful completion of Phase One indicates advancements in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and services in Kilifi. Beyond just adding beds, this project signifies a dedication to delivering quality healthcare services, ensuring that patients receive the care they deserve. It also exemplifies a successful public-private partnership model in advancing healthcare objectives throughout the county.
To sum up, the handover of the Phase One project marks a significant moment for the Kambe-Ribe and Rabai communities. With a renewed emphasis on women’s healthcare needs and a commitment to collaboration, the Kilifi County Government is paving the way for a healthier and more equitable future for all residents.
