ENHANCING EMERGENCY RESPONSE IN KILIFI.
We continue to prioritize emergency response, disaster management, and timely rescue missions in Kilifi County.
I received a delegation from St John’s Ambulance, led by its Chancellor and Head of St John’s Volunteer Kenya, Dr Robert Mutula-MBS, and its CEO, Dr James Wanjigi, who paid a visit to my office. During our meeting, we extensively discussed various matters concerning our preparedness for emergencies and explored ways to enhance our Emergency Medical Services and rescue operations through collaboration with St John’s and other relevant stakeholders in the county’s healthcare sector.
Following our discussions and in response to St John’s Ambulances’ request, I have agreed to become a county patron for their organization. My administration will support them to establish a rescue center to enhance rescue operations and increase awareness on basic rescue skills to the communities.
Furthermore, we have mutually agreed to do capacity building for our ambulance drivers in rescue missions, to gain the necessary skills to respond effectively during emergencies. In conclusion, these actions aim to enhance our collaboration with St John’s Ambulances and reinforce our commitment to ensuring efficient emergency response within our county.
