The Kilifi Department of Health and Sanitation Services, along with the Helen Keller Foundation, UNICEF, and Jacaranda Health, have collaborated to host a 5-day training session on the mentorship package for Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC). This training is aimed at improving the skills and knowledge of healthcare providers in the county.
The objective is to provide healthcare providers with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively handle complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as to offer the best possible care for newborns.
The EmONC program is designed to significantly decrease maternal and newborn mortality rates by ensuring that women with complications receive prompt and appropriate medical care. The program includes a range of services, from basic to comprehensive interventions.
The Department of Health is committed to ensuring the safety and health of both mothers and babies during childbirth. We are thankful to our partners for their support in realizing this vision.
