His Excellency the Governor Hon Gideon Maitha Mung’aro , together with Dr. Malik Tajbhai, the Medical Superintendent of Kilifi County, met with executives from Elekta, a renowned company specializing in the production and distribution of radiotherapy equipment for cancer patients. Among the attendees were Dr. Hanif Popat, the CEO of the healthcare division, and Ozgur Temel, an Oncology and Sales Manager.
Given the increasing incidence of cancer nationwide, and considering that the coastal region has a population of six million with only one radiation therapy machine available in Mombasa County, we discussed strategies to improve cancer treatment by installing a Radiotherapy machine in our cancer bunker at the Kilifi Referral hospital.
