Today, the Kilifi County Antimicrobial Stewardship Inter-agency Committee (CASIC) concluded a 3-day workshop, signifying a significant advancement in the fight against Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in the area.
The main objective of the workshop was to establish a comprehensive action plan that addresses the prevention and containment of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) across the human health, animal health, and environmental sectors within the county.
Discussions and presentations during the workshop encompassed topics such as governance and coordination, infection prevention and control, research, public awareness, surveillance, and the use of antimicrobials.
These discussions and activities are crucial to improving effectiveness, efficiency, and ultimately achieving success in the project, resulting in improved healthcare services quality in our county.
