Priority Area

• Accelerate Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) implementation in the remaining Sub-Counties (Kaloleni, Ganze, and Magarini) to achieve the county-wide ODF status by December 2024, aligning with the County Sanitation and Hygiene roadmap.
• Concentrate efforts to complete sanitation interventions in Malindi Sub-County and aim for it to be declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) by the end of Quarter 4.
• Strengthen Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) mechanisms to track progress, measure impact, and report on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) activities effectively.
• Implement sustainability activities in ODF Sub-Counties to promote and advance sanitation practices through Market-Based Sanitation (MBS) and Safely Managed Sanitation (SMS) approaches, moving communities up the sanitation ladder.
• Improve water quality control measures to ensure the provision of safe, clean, and potable water to the residents, reducing waterborne diseases and promoting public health.
• Strengthen inspection and monitoring activities in food premises to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards, safeguarding public health, and preventing foodborne illnesses.
