Today, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Thumbay University to strengthen our collaboration in education and training. This includes;
1. Training of healthcare workers of Kilifi County by Thumbay University Hospital
2. Exchange of professional expertise between both parties
3. Support and conduct joint research in the areas of healthcare and population health
4. Promotion of other academic activities for our young people as mutually agreed between the institutions
Thumbay University welcomed the first cohort of 10 healthcare workers from Kilifi County today. This group, including doctors, nurses, administrators, and nutritionists, will undergo a three-week specialized training in hospital management, emergency and critical care, and oncology.
We are also expecting equipment for cancer treatment and this partnership will enable us to provide our healthcare workers with training in cancer care.
We further discussed with Thumbay University President, Thumbay Moideen, and the management team, exploring further collaboration to enhance service delivery and healthcare quality for our people.
