PCN establishment status in the County

  • Target 7
  • Rabai, Kaloleni, and Kilifi South have been fully established, indicating that these areas have met the requirements, and they should be supported to be functional.
  • Sub-counties in Progress: Ganze: 90% completion, Malindi: 60% completion, Magarini and Kilifi North: 30% completion
  • A total of 3,552 CHPs (76%) have been trained in eCHIS, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to deliver quality healthcare services to their communities.
  • Committees have been established at the sub-county level to coordinate and oversee primary care initiatives and activities.
  • 3,650 CHP kits have been received, covering 78% of the targeted distribution.
  • Two rounds of commodities have been received for the CHP kits, ensuring that the CHPs have the necessary supplies and resources to perform their roles effectively.
  • The PHC TWG has been established and held its first meeting, with Terms of Reference (TORs) developed to guide its activities and mandate.
  • A significant milestone has been achieved with the signing of the Community Service Bill, which likely aims to enhance community engagement, participation, and collaboration in healthcare service delivery.
    Next Steps for FY 2023/24:
  • To finalize the establishment of PCNs in Ganze, Malindi, Magarini, and Kilifi North with support from USAID STAWISHA PWANI and UNICEF.
  • To conduct household registration and profiling to identify and assess the healthcare needs of the community and target interventions effectively.
  • To ensure timely payment of stipends to Community Health Promoters (CHPs) to motivate and support them in delivering healthcare services to their communities.
  • To fully operationalize the already established Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to enhance coordination, collaboration, and delivery of primary care services.
