The Kilifi Department of Health and Medtronic Labs successfully collaborated on a three-day training exercise for trainers of trainers, with the aim of equipping Community Health Assistants (CHAs) with skills and knowledge relating to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the use of the digital Spice & e-CHIS platform, and the utilization of recently distributed CHP kits.
The training focused on addressing the global health challenge presented by NCDs and stressed the importance of frontline healthcare workers being prepared. By introducing digital tools and providing practical training on CHP kits, CHAs were able to enhance their ability to deliver comprehensive healthcare services at the grassroots level.
The trainers of trainers play a crucial role in passing on knowledge to Community Health Promoters in order to ensure effective community healthcare. The ultimate objective is to strengthen healthcare systems and improve health outcomes in Kilifi County by empowering CHPs with the necessary skills and tools. This effort represents a significant milestone in the development of sustainable healthcare and community empowerment.
