Hon. Peter Mwarogo (CECM)

Hon. Peter Mwarogo is the Chief Executive Committee Member for Health and Sanitation Services in Kilifi County. He plays a pivotal role in driving healthcare reforms and enhancing service delivery within the county. His leadership is focused on improving health outcomes and ensuring the well-being of Kilifi’s residents through strategic initiatives and partnerships.

Hon. Mwarogo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Kenyatta University and a Master’s degree in Health Systems Management from the University of Nairobi. His academic background in public health and management provides a strong foundation for his role in health administration and policy implementation.

Hon. Mwarogo’s vision is to transform Kilifi County into a model of health excellence by providing accessible, high-quality healthcare services to all residents. His mission is to foster a healthcare system that is inclusive, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the community. He aims to achieve this through continuous improvement, innovation, and strategic collaborations.

Under Hon. Mwarogo’s leadership, the Kilifi Health Department has achieved significant advancements such as the recently received a pickup truck from The Fred Hollows Foundation to support the county’s eye services unit. This donation, supported by Australian Aid through The Fred Hollows Foundation, facilitated 1,319 cataract eye surgeries last year. In addition, to maintain continuous high-quality service provision, the department has recently acquired a range of pharmaceutical, non-pharmaceutical, and laboratory supplies. Furthermore, NIPN, a government-led national platform, aims to facilitate dialogue among multiple sectors and stakeholders regarding nutrition, utilizing existing data to create or enhance policies and programs and many more achievements

Hon. Mwarogo is dedicated to building a robust healthcare infrastructure in Kilifi County. His efforts are focused on increasing healthcare accessibility, improving service delivery, and enhancing the capacity of healthcare facilities. His leadership is characterized by a proactive approach to health challenges and a commitment to the well-being of all Kilifi County residents.
